Call for Abstracts: National Outreach Forum (NOrF) Stream at the 41st Annual BACCN Conference & 2nd Joint BACCN & IACCN Conference

Voices of Change: Shaping the Next Era in Critical Care Nursing

NOrF is delighted to invite Critical Care Outreach practitioners, RRS/Patient Deterioration specialists, Hospital-at-Night teams, and colleagues working across acute deterioration, safety, and escalation to submit abstracts for presentation within the dedicated NOrF stream at this year’s joint BACCN & IACCN Conference.

As the conference theme — Voices of Change: Shaping the Next Era in Critical Care Nursing — highlights, we are entering a period of innovation, adaptation, and transformation in patient deterioration management and critical care outreach. We want to showcase the vital work you do at the bedside, across the organisation, and beyond.

We welcome abstracts on (but not limited to):

  • Innovations in Critical Care Outreach practice
  • Early recognition and management of the deteriorating patient
  • Systems for escalation, safety-critical communication & RRS optimisation
  • Workforce development, education, and role evolution in Outreach
  • Collaborative models of care across acute and community settings
  • Use of digital tools, AI, data, or remote monitoring in deterioration pathways
  • Quality improvement and service evaluation projects
  • Research studies and emerging evidence in Outreach practice
  • Human factors, wellbeing, and resilience in rapid-response teams

Whether you are sharing a completed project, a service innovation, a research study, or a developing idea, your contribution can help shape future practice and inspire colleagues nationally and internationally.

Who Should Submit? We welcome submissions from:

  • Critical Care Outreach Nurses
  • Advanced Practitioners Deterioration Leads / Safety & Quality Leads Researchers & Educators
  • Allied Health Professionals involved in early intervention or escalation
  • Multidisciplinary teams

Both first-time presenters and experienced speakers are encouraged to submit.
