Electronic Data collection and measurable outcome recording

    Hi Everybody,

As a hospital we very actively use Vital Pac and as an Outreach Team use this system to tack and record obs etc. We have a slightly aging database for recording our 'activity' and would be interested in any system other than MedICU that people are using for both recording activity and measurable clinical outcomes for Outreach e.g cardiac arrests whilst on outreach books, mortality post ITU, readmissions etc. We would probably look at use with something similar to a notebook/I pad style device.

I have read older threads on a similar topic but wondered if anybody had any futher thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Catriona

I'm really interested in your point re the electronic system for data collection and identification of deteriorating patients. I have a couple of queries?

Does this system also involve staff notifying Outreach to give further information about the patient?

Does your Trust have Mandatory courses i'e Alert, ILS for staff in conjunction with this system. I'm concerned that on its own it would certainly alert staff but there is still a need for education

    Mnay thanks

    Dear All,

We are currently looking into IT systems focusing on electronic vital signs, could individuals/teams please share their experiences of the use of vital pac and nerve centre to help us inform our choice.

Your help would be much appreciated
