Has anyone ever come across information that gives some ratio of outreach team numbers to critical care beds/inpatient beds etc. I know that teams vary across the country in numbers and hours covered. Are there any plans to standardise this in any way from a NoRF perspective. Best wishes for the New Year.

I heard on the grapevine today that the RCP has been doing some research into Outreach teams and their effectiveness.  It's still confidential at the moment, but from what I heard it sounds really interesting and quite positive.  Don't know when it'll be published, but it may well have the info you need.

    Hi Liz,
We haven't heard anything about the work that the RCP is doing. If any other NOrF members are aware of this, it would be great to find out more.

When I went back to my source he couldn't recall our previous conversation or the report that he'd referred to! So either I imagined the conversation or he imagined the report (more likely the latter I think!). If I hear anything else I'll be sure to let you know.
